Peter Townsend graduated in Saint Andrew Technical High School 1977.   He is member of the 5K Run/Walk Committee and the S.W. Issac Henry Track and Field Invitational Meet Planning Committee.   He provides legal counsel for the STATHS Trust.

Mr. Townsend is a former teacher at the Dinthil Technical high school and a proud past student of the Dallas Primary & All Age School; University of Technology, The American College and Canadian institute of Chartered Life Underwriters & Financial Consultants, University of London and Norman Manley Law School.

Mr. Townsend is an Attorney-at-Law, Senior Associate at the firm Townsend Whyte & Porter Attorneys-at-Law and a Chartered Financial Consultant at Sagicor Insurance Brokers Limited.

Mr. Townsend is a foundation member of the National Democratic Movement where he has held various positions within the organization, including Chairman of the Membership Committee, Chairman East Rural St. Andrew Constituency, Parliamentary Candidate St. Andrew South-Eastern Constituency, Deputy General Secretary, Spokesman on Labour & Social Security, Deputy Chairman, Chairman and currently the President of the National Democratic Movement (NDM).

Outside of his professional life, Peter serves as a member of the Congregational Board of Saint Andrew’s Scots Kirk United Church (a congregation of the United Church in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands); Director and Board Member of the Insurance Employee Cooperative Credit Union Limited; Director Hummingbird International Real Estate & Consultancy services Inc.  and he has chaired various Strata Management Committees.
