Elaine V. Salmon-Brouers, J.P., MSc. is a proud alumna of St. Andrew Technical High School Graduating Class of 1972. She was instrumental in organizing the batch of 1972, which met on her mother’s veranda. She was among the founders of the STATHS Trust born from that initiative. Among her contribution to STATHS are, Secretary of the organizing committee for the celebration of the “Golden Jubilee in the Oasis,” a phrase she coined in 2011. She was responsible for the Health Fair held on April 7, 2011, and wrote the first concept paper for the STATHS Mentorship Programme.
She is the first President of the Matildas Corner District Consultative Committee and was Acting General Secretary of the NPTAJ 2013-2015. A founding member of the NPTAJ, she was the first Interim Secretary, elected for two consecutive terms thereafter. She founded the Jamaica and Caribbean Networks of Rural Women Producers, among other national and international organizations which advocate for gender equity. She has over 35 years of combined management, administrative, teaching experience, and community service in the public, private sectors, locally and internationally
