Water Storage Tank Project

STATHS TRUST interest and involvement with the Water Storage Tank Project at the school, started with the first meeting that representatives of the TRUST had with the newly appointed Principal Mr. Worrel Hibbert. The Principal had indicated that he needed assistance with two major projects; Solar Electricity and Water Storage Tank.Β  At that time, the Chairman on behalf of the TRUST pledged an amount of US$1500 to assist with the cost of implementing the Water Storage Tank Project

The Principal had procured, though Alumni connections a used Water Storage Tank, with a capacity of 20,000 gallons and for months it was just resting where the crane had placed it.Β  The TRUST was asked to assist in getting the Tank operational and enthusiastically responded by offering professional and technical advice and services

A comprehensive Project Proposal was prepared by the TRUST and presented to the Administration of the school, The proposal included technical drawings of the foundation support base, position/location of tank in close proximity to a fire hydrant (water supply source), a list and source of materials required ( hose, pipes valves etc) and the estimated project cost.Β  Additionally, the Trustees voted to double the amount of financial contribution from US$1500 to US$3000.Β Β

For reasons unknown and yet to be explained the Administration of the school rejected and discarded the Project Proposal presented by the TRUST without any formal communication.Β  A letter was sent from the TRUST to the Principal requesting a Report/Update on the progress of the project and there was no response.

Alternative technical advice was given and accepted in regards to the design of the foundation support base and the position/location of the tank. Β The schools Administration decided on the alternative advice and acted accordingly.

The Board of Trustees decided that there was no longer a reason for the TRUST to be involved with the Water Storage Tank project and voted to dis-associate itself from any further involvement. This decision was formally communicated to the Administration of the school through the Principal. Β As an Investor, however, the TRUST expects the Water Storage Tank project to be satisfactorily completed and made functional so as to be of benefit the population of the school.
